CEO
With over fifteen (15) years of global private equity and investment banking experience Usman co-founded Axxiom Ventures and is leading the venture as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Usman holds a BSc. in Finance and Actuarial Sciences from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He started his career as a Financial Analyst with Scotia Capital in New York, and has worked with manifold Financial Institutions and multiple Industry groups around the globe particularly in the United States. Usman has an extensive experience of leading various ventures in the field of Private equity. This includes Lakson Investments’ Private Equity arm serving as the Managing Partner. At Lakson Investments, Usman helped the firm position itself as the leading private equity player in Pakistan, primarily focused on the healthcare space. Preceding Lakson, Usman spent a year at Ithaca Capital where he served as the Director Portfolio Management, responsible for managing a number of investee companies in the Logistics, FMCG and Power sectors. Usman has also spent over nine extensive years with The Abraaj Group. At Abraaj, Usman was involved in the entire life cycle of private equity investing and management from fund raising, sourcing and executing transactions to portfolio management and exit strategies.
Managing Partner
Having trained at PWC for more than 4 year, Saad had been managing funds family offices for more than 7 years. During this professional career Saad has invested more than USD 120Mn in diversified business portfolios creating employment of more than 1,200 people. With his enthusiasm in technology and emphatic investment mindset he has helped various investors achieving their targeted portfolio value.
Investment Analyst
Talha joined Axxiom as an Analyst in 2022. He was previously employed as a Research Executive at NielsenIQ, one the global leaders in market research. Talha has cleared CFA level 1 and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from IBA Karachi with a bi-majors in finance and marketing. He has a passion for travelling and enjoys gardening in his free time.
Investment Analyst
Ahmed joined Axxiom as a Business Analyst in 2022. Prior to joining axxiom, he worked as a Data Analyst at Foodpanda, a leading food delivery startup. Ahmed has cleared CFA Level 1, hold MS Economics from IBA-Karachi, and a Bachelors in Economics from UOK where he received Gold Medal for highest academic standing. He loves travelling, reading comics, and sketching.
Investment Analyst
Saad has been affiliated with Axxiom since June, 2022. Having prior experience in Investment banking as an Analyst - Debt Capital Markets (DCM) & Syndications, as well as financial journalism as a Financial Sector Analyst (FSA), Saad adds valuable financial acumen and investment experience to handle a diverse range of transactions at Axxiom ventures. He holds a Bs. in Accounting & Finance from IBA, and is a CFA level 2 candidate. During his free time, Saad loves to read distinct politico-economic articles, travel and indulge in a wide range of sporting activities.
Senior Partner
Farrukh Abbas is a strategic investor with over 30 years of experience with multinationals and private equity, encompassing areas of strategy, turnarounds, business development, distribution networks and brand building, primarily in Middle East, Asia Pacific and West Asia. Over the years, Farrukh has led the growth and transformation of multiple businesses including leadership roles at Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK Holdings) in Qatar and The Abraaj Group. During his six years at NBK Holdings as Chief Restructuring Officer and Chief Operating Officer, he led the turnaround of 21 companies employing 6,000 people and generating US$45M in annual profitability. Prior to NBK, Farrukh spent eight years at the Abraaj Group and led the post-acquisition strategy of the Groups investee companies; he led the “rescue team” for distressed assets and at one point was managing the post-acquisition strategy of 28 companies in 17 countries. Before Abraaj, Farrukh spent over 15 years in multiple geographies in various general management roles with FMCG multinationals including Unilever and Coca Cola where he headed Sales & Marketing and General Management in South Asia, South East Asia and the Middle East.
